Camilo Lara went on a mystical quest to prove that there�s only one dance floor across the globe for their August 26 album COMPASS, on Six Degrees Records. The first single and instant grat track from the album is �Crazy Conscious,� featuring Toots (& the Maytals) Hibbert was recorded in Kingston, Jamaica, and today premiered on Billboard.
Lara said, �Toots invented the word Reggae and we feel his contribution to pop music is invaluable. We are very proud of the result of our collaboration. This was a magical moment.�
Lara and Toy worked with more than 90 artists in ten studios around the world to create an album that is �so fun and cool. It�s just what I needed,� said
Marco Werman from PRI�s �The World� who spoke with Lara in an interview this week.
MC Lyte, Nina Sky, Gael Garc�a Bernal, Cornelius, Eugene H�tz (Gogol Bordello), Rob Birch (Stereo MCs), Phil Manzanera, Kool A.D. (Das Racist), Eric Bobo (Cyrpess Hills), Emicida, Maluca, Kelli Ali, Tiombe Lockhart, Tanto Blacks, Crystal Fighters, Bonde do Role, El Dusty and Brazillians Mercurias and Bruno Morais (their �Canta Sim Medo� was released earlier this month) are among the collaborators on the project which Red Bull Media House filmed for a five-episode web series expected around Compass� release.
�It�s exciting to hear something fresh and then put it down and do it for all the world to hear,� said Eric Bobo, Cypress Hill.
