The Ventures are: Don Wilson - Rhythm Guitar - (co-founder in 1958) Bob Bogle - Lead and Bass Guitar- (co-founder in 1958), passed away in 2009 Nokie Edwards - Lead and Bass Guitar- (joined in 1960) Gerry McGee - Lead and Bass Guitar- (joined in 1968) Mel Taylor - Percussion, passed away in1996 Bob Spalding - Lead and Bass Guitar- (joined in 1981) Leon Taylor - Percussion - (joined in 1996, son of Mel Taylor) The Ventures remain active, recording and touring to the delight of fans around the world. 2008 marked the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the band, truly a remarkable accomplishment. It also saw their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band celebrates their official 50th Anniversary in 2009, with a special tour in Japan, shows in the US and Canada, and multiple CD releases.
