After I got Annie, she kept laying eggs -infertile of course. So, I wanted to get her a mate. Came across an ad with a male and female white doves - both too bonded and the lady did not want to split them up - even thought they were young. Long story short, They mated, BUT the cool thing was when the babies hatched out, the female allowed Annie to help feed them. Annie also took her turn at sitting on them - so she acquired the nick name of 'Auntie Annie' - mmmm soft pretzels...
I eventually rehomed the babies and the parents. White doves are very cool as pets - and I let them have the flight of the screened in patio - but the poop was way outta hand - and way under my feet.
The babies went to loving homes and the parents were kept together and went to another loving home and I'm sure are still producing sweet little babies.
I still have Annie - that's all I'm going to keep - the sweetest little dove in the world.
