Cody Johnson Stands Up for REAL Country Music

#CodyJohnson probably knew the reaction he'd get when he started to sing Lil Nas X's #OldTownRoad but he did it anyways. The "On My Way To You" hitmaker and 2019 Taste of Country RISER sang the first lyric of the hit song's chorus during a show at Texas A&M University this month and fan video obtained by Taste of Country shows his audience booing but not necessarily getting angry with him. Johnson was making a point about what is and isn't country music and the multi-song medley he followed with let the crowd know where he stood.
