I must admit that this is my first listening experience with Blake Aaron’s music. The first thought I had when I saw the CD cover is whether Blake is of Italian descent. He has that “look” most Italian men possess. But whether he is…or isn’t…Blake Aaron surely covered this “originally written and recorded by Hall & Oates” song quite smooth… and musically delicious! Blake Aaron comes with a multi background in music entertainment. As a TV and film composer, Blake Aaron was the guitarist and composed for television shows and films such as MadTV, in which he was the show’s guitarist for 14 years and co-composed themes for shows of well-known channels such as Comedy Central, The Ben Stiller show on FOX, Spike TV, and the WB. Blake Aaron debuted his first album “With Every Touch” in 2001 and shows just how serious he was in jumping into a solo career. “Soul Stories” is his fifth solo studio album of which he produced himself. No doubt the title fits the theme of his CD because it is full of soul as Blake uniquely demonstrates on this track and others. But many of you also know that, in 2008, Blake Aaron began hosting an internationally syndicated weekly radio show. “The Blake Aaron Radio Show” is a musical interview live radio show with an artist-to-artist format. Guests on his shows have included Peter White; Najee; Mindi Abair; Hiroshima; Paul Jackson Jr.; and Boney James, to name a few. As one of the well-sought out guitarist, Blake has performed with some of music’s most heaviest like Carlos Santana; Philip Bailey [of Earth, Wind, and Fire]; David Benoit; Eric Marienthal; The Gap Band; Mary Wells, to name a few.
