Today, September 7th, Kathryn Thomas, Sile Seoige, Alan Shortt, Jenny Buckley and Darren Holden were on hand to launch the Climb for Kids Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge in association with 2FM in aid of the Children's Medical and Research Foundation at Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin. Also participating in the trek will be Cork Hurler, Aisake O hAilpin, comedian Karl Spain and 2FM DJ, Ruth Scott.
The Climb for Kids team will depart Dublin on October 9th and spend seven gruelling days taking on Africa's highest mountain. Each day they will trek for an average of seven hours through forest, semi-desert and alpine desert before taking on stone scree and reaching Kilimanjaro's ice-capped summit on October 15th.
