Hill's Lake Hatchery Charlton Ontario, Aurora Trout fry
Aurora Trout fry stock at Hill's Lake Hatchery. Provincial facility that raises speckle and lake trout. It has a natural spring that it uses as a head water that supplies the facility with fresh water. The hatchery also helped in the saving of a very rare species of trout, Aurora. Paul Graff who was the manager of the hatchery and Jack Fearnley lead the fight to save the species. This included hiding young Aurora trout in the hatchery against the orders of the provincial government. These young trout later became the parent stock that was used to stock 3 lakes in the area once approval was given.
