New Order - Blue Monday (LoFi one-synth cover) - Korg PSS-50 Super Section drum machine synthesizer

The reality of being a struggling musician in the 80s?🤔💸 In these days of ebay and trade groups it's easy to get hold of equipment that would have cost a fortune back then. In this video I try to emulate an iconic song from the era using a synth that would have been relatively affordable for most musicians. More retro videos here: https://www.beatratio.com/video.html P.S. Since other people have asked: If you have a computer based setup there is a workaround (slightly convoluted) to achieve sync: 1) decide on the total bar length the song you want to record. 2) Create a new song of that duration but using only patter 62. 3) Record tape sync tone and pattern 62 (drums only). This will give you a single kick to mark a bar start. 4) Adjust your project's tempo so it matches the recorded kicks from bar 1 to the last one. 5) The machine will now play in sync if fed the previously recorded sync tone. Pretty fiddly but this should allow you to change drums and cue fills on the fly. I don't use a DAW so I haven't tested this but I think it should work. The alternative is to sample the beats but it's not nearly as much fun!
