Shytown is an American music duo and songwriting team that consists of Eric "EJ" Johnson and Danny Jay. Hailing from Chicago, Shytown formed after major Top 40 station, B96's music director, Erik Bradley, arranged for an introduction. They got right down to work, writing, producing, recording, and performing non-stop. After moving to Los Angeles, Shytown landed the pilot for Suge Knight's reality series "Unfinished Business" and crashed into the scene with a breakout performance at the B96 Chicago Summer Bash. Shytown got the attention of Platinum producer David Kahne who worked on spec to help create their hit, "My Apology," which is a Mix Show radio favorite. Their live cast on Ustream.tv made Shytown the only unsigned artist ever to hit the homepage. They then worked with another Platinum producer, Jonathan "JR" Rotem on single, "Good Times," which was featured on the Fox show "I Hate My Teenage Daughter." The placement landed the group a local buzz. From there they were then invited to write at Atlantic Records for the likes of artists B.O.B. and Cody Simpson. Following the release on iTunes of their first EP, "Single Again," Shytown hit the road, the radio, and the web on a promotional mini-tour. From Hollywood to the beach, the pair sold out shows at House of Blues, Viper Room, Livestream, Universal City Walk, PopCon and ultimately found themselves on the iTunes pop homepage. Amidst the buzz, they were invited to N'Sync's Lance Bass's studio as guests on his Siruius XM radio show and wrote his official theme song. Currently, the duo is back with a new live acoustic band and doing shows around LA, Orange County and San Diego. PRESS: Till The Roof Comes Down is possibly the catchiest single we've heard in recent months, mixing EDM/ hip-hop rap beats with Great lyrics and vocals. Shytown are from Chicago, Illinois which is where they took their name (another alternative for the windy city) and are Eric Johnson & Danny Jacobson. Eric & Danny are now based in Los Angeles where they were recruited to perform on Suge Knight's reality TV show Unfinished Business having landed the pilot. Then they made a bigger name for themselves with a stellar performance at the B96 Chicago Summer Bash. Sold-out shows at the legendary Viper Rooms and House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard followed. Till the Roof comes Down is a great tune for all the guys & girls out there ready to party this summer. We think this should be a huge hit on radio and in the clubs and we hope to see the guys here in the UK before too long. Until then check them out on youtube and facebook and bring some of the summer into the winter nights. This happy, sunny track is shaping up to be a huge hit on both sides of the Atlantic.
