Chris Rea -The American Way (Blue Guitars, Texas Blues)

Chris Rea - The American Way, Blue Guitars Album Number Five - Texas Blues. Blue Guitars is a Blues album released by Chris Rea on October 14, 2005 consisting of eleven CD's, one DVD and a full colour book, including paintings by the artist, liner notes and song lyrics. The album is an ambitious project with the 137 songs recorded over the course of 1½ years with a work schedule - according to Chris Rea himself - of twelve hours a day, seven days a week. Initially the project was inspired by Bill Wyman's "Blues Odyssey" and can be called an "odyssey" in its own right, for depicting a journey through the various epochs of Blues Music, starting at its African origins and finishing with modern-time Blues from the 60s and 70s. Subsequently the eleven CD's are titled the following: "Beginnings", "Country Blues", "Louisiana & New Orleans", "Electric Memphis Blues", "Texas Blues", "Chicago Blues", "Blues Ballads", "Gospel Soul Blues & Motown", "Celtic & Irish Blues", "Latin Blues" and "60s & 70s". Album Number Five - Texas Blues And yet another direction, the Blues was morphing into. Take the basic concept, move it into the "modern wild west" and what you get out of it is straightforward Texas Blues. It's all in there, endless highways, run-down trucker bars, oil, dirt, cowboy boots, stories about life on the move, all down in Texas, all just as sad as the original Blues (Lone Star Boogie, No Wheels Blues). The mixture of the basic Blues concept with more country and western styled instruments (slide guitars, harmonica) gave the Blues a rawer, yet again still instantly recognizable sound, which has played a major role in music ever since - go Stevie Vaughan and ZZ Top!! "I still remember, the place we used to go, dreaming dreams of Texas, as we pushed hard through the snow" - Chris Rea Tracklist: " Lone Rider (Texas Blues) - 4.44 " Texas Blue - 5.10 " No Wheels Blues - 5.02 " Lone Star Boogie - 5.16 " Blind Willie - 6.48 " The American Way - 4.07 " Angellina - 4.47 " Truck Stop - 4.49 " Weekend Down Mexico - 4.20 " Texas Line Boogie - 4.41 " Too Big City - 5.02 " Houston Angel - 3.59 The American way of life is an expression that refers to the lifestyle of people living in the United States of America. It is an example of a behavioral modality, developed from the 17th century until today. It refers to a nationalist ethos that purports to adhere to principles of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." It has some connection to the concept of American exceptionalism and the American Dream. The American Dream is a national ethos of the United States, a set of ideals in which freedom includes the opportunity for prosperity and success, and an upward social mobility achieved through hard work. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the United States Declaration of Independence which proclaims that "all men are created equal" and that they are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness". Everyone tells me, everyone say Nobody loses The American way Doctors and teachers So much they can do Food on the table And a future for you Sweet little angel, sleeping so still I got to run for the boarder now You won't see me until Your papa got a good job Got some money in his hands Tell your Mama what I'm saying She will help you understand So while I'm gone Pray that it won't be long We'll be together again On a shiny new day Living the dream The American way I met a guy on a corner I gave him all that we could He said get me a green card Mama's scared She thinkd he's no good I said this time it will work out Anyway it's all we can do 'Cos we live for your future That's why I got to get through So while I'm gone Pray that it won't be long We'll be together again On a shiny new day Living the dream The American way...
