Joel Adams - Kingdom (Official Lyric Video)

KINGDOM out now! Get the song at https://fanlink.to/JAKingdom When I wrote kingdom there really wasn’t a whole lot of thought going into it initially. I was trying to just have fun and write something that felt happy rhythmic and kind of had a reggae vibe to it. I think the lyrics kind of reflect that because it’s all about positivity. I had kind of been going through a few problems over the past few months and I think the song is a reflective message to myself and anyone else to just stay positive. When I came up with the line “at least you got your freedom” that took the song from being just a fun jam into actually trying to say something important. I feel like these days it’s so easy to feel sorry for yourself with social media and all the mental health issues people talk about everyday. It’s not hard to compare your life to someone else’s and then feel down about it. But I think no matter how hard you might have it there’s always someone else out there who’s got it worse. And that’s what the song is for me a reminder to try and look at the bright side of things. Because at the end of the day the chances of you actually being about live life is 1 in a Trillion. So to be able to have a chance at life and to have the freedom to do what you want I feel is such a blessing. Life is amazing it just depends how you look at it. It’s very easy to just look at a problem and feel horrible about it and let it consume you. But if you look at the positives, focus on the future and where you could go, life could be amazing. - Kingdom Written by: Joel Adams, Mounir Ghantous, Tony Ghantous Produced by: Joel Adams, The MoonTonez I was sitting at the corner Staring at a dollar When a guy asked me a question Do You wish to never to be alone, Never to be broke and always to be right? So I stood on my feet for just a second I took a good look at him and then I said “you know man” I said "I’m still gonna to be alone, still gonna be broke, but I know that I'll be alright. " 'Cause I remember when my dad said “Son this life isn’t owed to you A million things could go wrong for you, but at least you got your Freedom." He said "One day you will be all grown up and I will be older too and You can do what you want to do. Just remember where you came from And your life could be a kingdom." And your life could be a kingdom I was sipping from a bottle thinking about tomorrow when I asked myself a question. Will I always be alone, always be broke, never gonna be right? But I remember when the kids they used to tease me about my life and my momma she would say when i got home from school that night “If you ever feel alone, ever feel broke, know you’ll be alright.” 'Cause you remember when your dad said "Son this life isn't owed to You, a million things could go wrong for you But at least you got your freedom." He said "One day you will be all grow up and I will be older too And you can do what you want to do Just remember where you came from And your life could be a kingdom." And your life could be a kingdom Yeah Just remember where you came from …………………………… Sign up for the mailing list! https://joeladamsofficial.com Keep connected! • Instagram | www.instagram.com/joeladams • Facebook | www.facebook.com/JoelAdamsMusic • Twitter | www.twitter.com/JoelAdamsMusic For business inquiries email: [email protected]
