Tamio Okuda was born on May 12, 1965 in Hiroshima, Japan, and is one of the nation's most famous singer, songwriter and producer. Having captured the hearts of Japanese fans with his now legendary rock band, UNICORN, he kicked off his solo career in 1993, and within the following year was topping charts with his 1994 single, Ai no Tame ni. Tamio's first solo album, '29, also sold millions. Ever since, he's written and produced for many Japanese household-name artists such as PUFFY, Kaela Kimura and collaborated with another rock star, Yosui Inoue. He has also deep ties with oversea musicians and in the United States, having recorded and toured with Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino as part of the alternative rock band, The Verbs. In 2009, Tamio and his UNICORN band members reformed to great success, and are still active today.
