In Memory of Damon Billeck

In memory of our cousin Damon... A HERO is someone who combats adversity through bravery or strength, often sacrificing their own personal concerns for a greater good. This one word best describes 13 year old Damon Enrico Billeck. Damon fought Osteosarcoma Bone Cancer for over four years. He braved years of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and the amputation of his left arm. All with a huge smile. Damon won his battle with cancer, but lost his life on April 3, 2018 at 11:26 am embraced in the arms of his devoted mother and surrounded by his family. "Strength is not measured by how much one can lift," Damon would say, "Strength is measured by how much one can lift others." By this definition, he was the strongest of us all.
