Don Estelle & Windsor Davies - Whispering Grass / I Should Have Known (1975)

Don Estelle and Windsor Davies sing the 1940 hit Whispering Grass in the characters of Gunner Lofty and Battery Sergeant-Major Williams from the BBC sitcom It Ain't Half Hot, Mum. As with his character on-screen, Estelle was never taken seriously as a singer despite his great voice, because of his short height and looks. The hit record got them on Top of the Pops in 1975. The B Side is 'I Should Have Known' sung by Estelle alone.
