:60 With: Jazz Cartier 2017 Toronto rapper Jazz Cartier arrives with an international feel. His stepfather was a diplomat, and the young Jaye Adams spent time in Kuwait, Barbados, and all over the US (from Idaho to Maine), where he soaked up everything from OutKast to soca to Arabic music. After returning to Canada, he poured his stories into his 2015 debut mixtape, 'Marauding In Paradise. Its breakout single “Switch” became a regular crowd-rouser at Toronto Raptors games. Last year he dropped his second mixtape, 'Hotel Paranoia,' which was named Rap Recording of the Year at the 2017 Juno Awards, and he recently delivered some dark vibes in the new video for “Tempted."
