The lens is definitely going to compare well with the 50mm 1.4 and easily beats the old 50mm 1.8 II (nifty fifty). In this video I test out the Canon 50 1.8 STM's bokeh, do some image samples, test out the video quality and test out the autofocus. The 50mm f/1.8 STM's autofocus has greatly improved, especially when you pair the 50mm f/1.8 STM up with a camera like the Canon 70d or T6s/T6i. Video autofocus works great too.
