Born in Beijing, she moved to British Hong Kong in 1987 and came to public attention in the early 1990s by singing ballads in Cantonese. Since 1994 she has recorded mostly in her native Mandarin, often combining alternative music with mainstream Chinese pop. Hugely popular in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, she has also gained a large following in Japan. And Carousel is included in her 2003 Mandarin album To Love. This was Wong's 19th official studio album, and the first to be released by Sony Music Asia. As of 2013 it remains her last album to date. Released on 7 November 2003, it has 13 tracks: 10 in Mandarin and 3 in Cantonese.
