RUTHERFORD, CA. (Top40 Charts) The Staglin Family celebrated the 20th Annual
Music Festival for Brain Health on
September 13 & 14 in the Napa Valley, raising nearly $3.5 million in 2013/2014 to benefit the IMHRO/One Mind
Institute and ONE MIND. A portion of the proceeds from Sunday, Sept. 14 also benefited the Tug McGraw Foundation. The Staglin family announced the 20-year cumulative total, including direct contributions to ONE MIND™ and leveraged funds provided to scientists as a result of IMHRO's initial research funding from festival proceeds, has approached $210 million. IMHRO and ONE MIND™ together have become the nation's leading private-public mental health organizations dedicated to curing brain-related diseases, including depression, schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury and bi-polar illness, focusing on issues including funding, research, advocacy, and anti-stigma.

Brandon and Shannon, Patrick Kennedy, Co-Chairman, and Pete Chiarelli, CEO of ONE MIND™, and the Board of Directors, welcomed over 1500 supporters, scientists, and friends to raise awareness of the causes and cures for physiological brain disorders.
"Today we celebrate a hugely successful weekend and total cumulative proceeds from our 20 years approaching $210 million, which is incredible," stated Shari and Garen Staglin. "We have come so far and yet still have a long way to go, but are extremely confident that with continued generosity of our supporters and hard work by our scientists, board members, and volunteers, we will unlock the mysteries of the brain and make a difference in so many lives."
The 20th Annual festival included a scientific symposium, featuring keynote speaker Eric Lander, PhD, of the Human Genome Project and Founding
Director of the Broad
Institute of MIT and Harvard, and moderated by Steven Hyman, former
Director of the U.S.
National Institute of Mental Health. Thereafter a tasting of some of the word's most acclaimed wines took place in the Staglin Family Vineyard caves. Vintage Trouble took the stage followed by the post-concert VIP dinner featuring Chef Jan Birnbaum and an all-star cast of alumni chefs from previous festivals. An impromptu fund-a-need auction added $100,000 to the day's total. Sunday's festivities included a Food Truck Fest, followed by Grammy® nominated singer
Jewel at the historic Lincoln Theater for a crowd of over 1,000 supporters.
