Sarah Ross Puts Modern Spin On Classic Hit Song "You're No Good"
NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts) Putting a modern spin on a classic song, Average Joes' recording artist, Sarah Ross, celebrates the 40th anniversary of "You're No Good" with the remake of the iconic song made famous by Linda Ronstadt in 1975. "You're No Good" can be purchased on both Google Play and iTunes.
"I'm honored to introduce this song to a whole new generation of fans," said 19-year old Sarah Ross. "Growing up, my mom used to play the song all the time at home, and it has always been one of my favorites."
The original version of "You're No Good" was written by Clint Ballard Jr. and first released by Dee Dee Warick in 1963, but it first charted for Betty Everett in 1963. The single peaked at #51 on Billboard's "Hot 100" and #5 on Cashbox's "R & B Locations" chart. In 1975, Linda Ronstadt's version became a #1 hit on Billboard's "Hot 100." In the U.K., the Swinging Blue Jeans had a version of the song which hit #3 in the summer of 1964.
Ross, who was an early contestant on Season 12 of American Idol, was first introduced to fans on Average Joes' highly successful Mud Digger compilation albums. She is currently in the studio recording her debut EP due out in early 2015. A music video for "You're No Good" will be released in the coming weeks.
