New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Following the debut release of his single, "West of the Rockies," Rick Elliot keeps his roots country feel with a new track, "Let It Shine." With his debut EP due out later this year, Elliot is further solidifying the direction of his music with this second release. "Let It Shine" stays true to what Elliot knows best and is available now for purchase on Amazon.

Kicking off with a driving electric guitar and a dash of classic country steel, "Let It Shine" presents itself as a hit in the country world. Keeping the Wild West feel throughout with a grooving drum line, Rick Elliot brings us the perfect mix of a new feel to an old style of music. To add to it all, Elliot's vocals lay over the track perfectly. The words, "Heartaches every time I hear your name, all the pills look the same," pierce through our heart with sorrow and present a clear vision and a sense of the mental state of Elliot while penning this track. Having such honesty with his lyricism brings us to the conclusion that Rick Elliot is more than a musician; he is an intricate storyteller. When talking about the song, Rick calls the track "a little gospel with a sinister twist. It's an upbeat country rhythm and screaming guitar make it a perfect driving song".

Producer John Avila, former member of Oingo Boingo, captures the essence of Rick Elliot's artistry and projects his way of life into his music. The outlaw country tone that can be heard from beginning to end is not only influenced by Elliot's personal lifestyle, but by some of his favorite country musicians, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. Tipping his hat off to them, mastering expert Gavin Lurssen (T Bone Burnett, Foo Fighters) ensures Rick Elliot keeps true to his passion while adding an innovative direction. While this only marks Elliot's second single, it is a large stride in the right direction as the release for his first EP inches closer. From his vocals to his guitar craft to skills on the piano, you can expect big things from the EP. Rick Elliot's sound is reviving the old school country outlaw sound with the confidence and drive beyond this 18-year-old talent's years. His goal is to bring back a lost art of old school California Country and make it something to watch out for.

Find your old pair of boots, get in your pick-up and cruise the back roads with "Let It Shine" by Rick Elliot blaring through your speakers. If you haven't listened to "West of the Rockies" yet, make sure to check it out and give this California cowboy a good shot.
