Using the knowledge he gained with Ruff Ryder's, Yung returned to his native Durham, North Carolina and in 2011 formed the group XO Project, with two other members. The success of the group set off the release of his first regional radio hit "Tweet Me". Yung gave some flavor to the track by presenting fans with a taste of his silver-tongued vocals. Swiftly becoming the standout member of the group XO Project Yung drew the attention of labels and was noted as being an "artist that is destined for greatness."
