New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Hertfordshire alt-rockers Chasing Cadence are extremely pleased to announce that they will be playing a special live set for this years Unsigned Music Awards at the October 27th ceremony. The show is to be held at the stunning Troxy theatre, London, and hosted by Laura Whitmore (MTV) and Chris Stark (The Scott Mills Show).

The awards show will be broadcast across the Box Plus Network (4Music, Kiss, Kerrang!, Box Upfront), as well as on a newly announced interactive freeview channel to be launched by Channel 4 in September and student union channel SubTV. The band will be joined on the live bill at this years event by British born hip-hop artist AKS and classic rockers Hunter & The Bear.

Tickets are available here https://bit.ly/uma-tix

Commenting on the news, the band say: "Of all the fantastic unsigned acts throughout the UK, we are totally overwhelmed to be playing the Unsigned Music Awards on October 27th. The current state of the music industry needs addressing and were in dire need of people like Simon, Georgina and Ben to help unsigned talent shine through the mainstream saturation, and we're honoured that they have chosen us to share their spotlight."

The UMA 2016 is the worlds first televised music industry awards show dedicated to unsigned music. The musical landscape is changing: today the term unsigned does not carry the same stigma as it once did. A young music fans perception of what unsigned artists create differs greatly to generations before. Even artists themselves are turning their backs on traditional and 360 recording contracts to remain totally independent and retain creative rights to their music.

The model has shifted away from the need of a typical record deal and this needs to be acknowledged explains Simon OKelly (CEO) I feel that unsigned artists deserve the same airtime, attention and glamour as international superstars, because with that leverage, we can start to build a new and respectable industry for some truly deserving artists.

Application is free and open now for artists of all genres. So if you are a band, singer, mc, producer or aspiring musician of any kind then be sure to sign up here: https://theunsignedmusicawards.com/apply

Applications open until 31st August 2016.

The bands new EP Destroy Something Beautiful will be released on 16th September 2016 and they will play a special EP launch show on 29th September at The Black Heart in Camden, London with support from Junior, Harken and Artisans.

Tickets for the release show are on sale now at https://chasingcadence.bigcartel.com and www.ourblackheart.com
