Peter Dunbavan Shares 'An Avid's Guide To Sixties Songwriters'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "An Avid's Guide to Sixties Songwriters" serves as a reminder of how powerful, groundbreaking and diverse the music of the '60s era was and how it bound a whole generation of young people.

Peter Dunbavan's lifetime love of music and songwriters in particular as well as the magic and music of the '60s have inspired him in writing "An Avid's Guide to Sixties Songwriters" (published by AuthorHouse UK). In this book, Dunbavan introduces readers to the songwriters of the '60s who were not, or are not, necessarily performers themselves.

This is an essential reference book for lovers of '60s music covering 80 songwriters and over 2,000 songs, some of which are the greatest hits ever written. These writers span a wide range from the very well-known, such as Bacharach/David and Goffin/King, to the not so well-known, such as Philip Goodhand-Tait and Clint Ballard Jr. The book includes both detailed chart information and mini biographies for each songwriter or songwriting team, in an easy-to-read format.

"It is relatively easy to find a substantial library of books relating to the songwriters within the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who and the Kinks, or the solo artists such as Bob Dylan.," Dunbavan says. "But there isn‛t a book or website about the other 'bespoke‛ songwriters: one that provides detailed chart placings, plus a narrative, in one comprehensive, easily readable, format."

For any music enthusiast, a record or song is one's footprint in time. It defines a moment in life and can transport one precisely to the time and place the song was first heard. "An Avid's Guide to Sixties Songwriters" serves as a reminder of how powerful, groundbreaking and diverse the music of the '60s era was and how it bound a whole generation of young people.

About the Author
Peter Dunbavan was born in Preston, England, in 1951. He was educated at the local grammar school and Imperial College, London, from which he graduated with a degree in chemical engineering with first-class honors. His diverse employment history has included working as a laborer, finance director, industrial chemist, meter reader, charity director, wallpaper warehouseman, college lecturer and drug and alcohol rehabilitation employee. During his somewhat haphazard working life, his love of music has been a constant companion. He has been involved in playing live music since the age of 15, when he formed his first band. He has performed in various setups over the years and for a short time in the '90s worked professionally as a solo artist. He has also been a spectacularly unsuccessful songwriter, having written over a hundred songs and still waiting for his first hit. After a short break of 10 years, he is now back performing in pubs and clubs.
