Nashville's Nora Jane Struthers To Release Fearless New Album 'Champion' - Out October 13, 2017
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Nashville's Nora Jane Struthers has announced details for her upcoming album 'Champion', out October 13 via Blue Pig Music. Struthers spoke with Vice Noisey about the new record and shared the title track this morning, which they call "a love song made for dancing….rock and bluegrass merge to create a joyous, celebratory feeling".

On 'Champion', Struthers offers her most adventurous and fully realized work to date, digging into everything from punk riffs to mind/body philosophy for inspiration. The 13-song collection gorgeously details the ups and downs of newly married life, and documents in brave, plainspoken terms the challenges she has faced in attempting to start a family - even as many of her friends navigate their own difficult paths through new parenthood.

'Champion' was produced by Nielson Hubbard and recorded in Nashville with Struthers' longtime band the Party Line. From the slow-building pedal steel breakdown on "Belief" to its rock-leaning title track ballad, 'Champion' weaves a unique narrative tapestry of vulnerability and hope in the face of struggle, blurring the lines between folk, roots and rock to showcase Struthers' newfound vulnerability and natural gift for storytelling.

Struthers' 2015 release 'Wake' earned praise everywhere from Rolling Stone to Amy Poehler's Smart Girls to NPR Fresh Air, who called it "Excellent….an awakening Struthers has had about who she is, what she wants to do, and how she wants to sound." She will kick off an extensive tour in support of the new album later this fall, see full dates below.
