LOS ANGELES (Capitol Records) - Ultimate Kylie is the only comprehensive collection of greatest hits from Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue, one of the world's top selling female artists. The set features 32 of her international hit singles from 1987 to the present day, and includes the new hit single "I Believe In You," which Kylie wrote and recorded with Jake Shears and Babydaddy from Scissor Sisters and is now Top 10 on Billboard's Hot Dance Radio Airplay chart, plus one other previously unreleased track.

Since "The Loco-Motion" became her first #1 in Australia in 1987 and went on to become a massive hit in the U.S. and beyond, Kylie has been a continuing record breaker the world over. When her first UK single, "I Should Be So Lucky," hit #1 in 1988 it entered the record books as the first single in over 10 years to stay atop the British charts for five weeks.

She's been breaking records ever since -- most recently with international smash "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" and Grammy Award winning track "Come Into My World" from 2001's Fever album, and international hit "Slow" from last year's Body Language album, which was nominated as "Best Dance Recording" for the upcoming 47th annual Grammy Awards, all of which is contained on Ultimate Kylie.

Kylie's total single sales worldwide are estimated at a staggering 20 million copies, with album sales easily taking her record sales worldwide to over 40 million, making her one of the biggest-selling female artists in music history.

At the age of 19, Kylie became the youngest star ever to win the award for "most popular actress in Australia." She released her first single in Australia in 1987, a remake of the Little Eva hit "The Loco-Motion," which remained at #1 for 7 weeks in her native country, becoming the biggest selling Australian single of the decade. "The Loco-Motion" also gave Kylie her first Top 5 single in the US.

By 1988 she had gone global, going to #1 in the UK and 5 other countries with "I Should Be So Lucky."

Since then she has become one of the most successful female artists of all time, with her popularity spanning the world. Her trailblazing tours have broken records for ticket sales and have been lauded everywhere for their sense of innovation and

breathtaking style. She is surely one of the few iconic pop artists who could feature as a castrato in an art film by Sam Taylor Wood, duet with Nick Cave, recite "I Should Be So Lucky" at the Poetry Olympics at the Albert Hall, while remaining on top of her pop career.

Of this consummate collection of pop classics, Kylie says:

"I can't believe how quickly time has passed since my first hit. This collection is very dear to me and holds a lifetime of memories. I hope the listener gets as much enjoyment out of these tracks as I do. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to experiment throughout the years and that my fans have embraced my need to try new approaches. I am just as excited about the new tracks featured here as I am about all the others. At this point in my career I'm very happy to celebrate the past and look forward to the future, as always."
