SZA & Shawn Mendes Cover Elton John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) SZA and Shawn Mendes pay tribute to Elton John singing as duet the hit single "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" at "Elton John: I'm Still Standing Tribute Concert," a Grammy special for CBS.

Backed by a live band, Mendes held an acoustic guitar, while Solana provided soulful vocals. Standing on a bed of fog, the duo went back and forth with the iconic track. Meanwhile, Elton John applauded their efforts from the audience. SZA and Shawn Mendes are just the latest stars to cover the 1976 classic by Elton John and Kiki Dee. Ol' Dirty Bastard and Macy Gray and Jesse McCartney and Anne Hathaway are some of the stars who've covered it since.

More recently, Q-Tip and Demi Lovato recorded a remake for Revamp: Reimagining the Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin. The tribute album also featured other covers, including Logic and Pink's take on "Bennie and the Jets."

Last night's tribute concert also included other stars. Alessia Cara rocked "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues," Lady Gaga performed "Your Song," and John Legend played a rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me." Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, and Chris Martin were among the night's other performers.
