Tina Turner launched the release of her new double-CD anthology, All The Best, in typically dynamic fashion: with a rock'em, sock'em series of six national television appearances, performing her brand new single "Open Arms," one of three new songs she recorded especially for the collection, which recaps the highlights of her unrivaled four-decade career.
America, once again, was blown away by Tina, snapping up 121,493 copies of All The Best, resulting in its debut at No 2 on the Billboard 200. This extraordinary debut marks two important career milestones for Turner - All The Best is both her highest debut on the Billboard 200 and her highest-charting album ever in the U.S. (Private Dancer peaked at No 3.) The ensuing momentum has snowballed at radio, turning "
Open Arms" into a Top 20 hit at the Adult Contemporary format after only three weeks of airplay.
Fans will have another chance to see Turner perform her latest hit on The View on Friday, February 18th. In the past week, she has performed "Open Arms," as well as classic hits from her vast repertoire, on NBC's Today Show (in a two-day segment), The Oprah Winfrey Show, Live With Regis and Kelly, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and CBS' The Early Show.
Released February 1st, All The Best is an essential collection that features the songs she made famous in the 1960's with the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, reviews two decades of spectacular solo recordings and brings the story right up to date with a trio of newly-recorded songs: "Open Arms," produced by Jimmy Hogarth, "Complicated Disaster," produced by Steve Robson, and "Something Special," produced by Trevor Horn.
