Jessie Reyez Releases New Track "Body Count"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Jessie Reyez started off 2018 strong, winning Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2018 Juno Awards, and performing a stunning version of her track, "Figures, A Reprise" with fellow Toronto artist Daniel Caesar at the award show. For the first time since then, after feature collaborations, new tracks, writing "One Kiss" with Calvin Harris for Dua Lipa, and her impressive debut EP Kiddo, Reyez now shares the brand-new song "Body Count" via FMLY Records/Island Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company.

Meant as an anthem to empower, "Body Count" asserts that women (and men) are equally allowed to embrace their sexuality rather than be modest. It's a return to form for Reyez, of sorts, with simply her lush voice over acoustic guitar, looking back at the heartbreak anthem "Figures" that put her on the map, and has globally streamed over 78M times.

On the track and upcoming video, Reyez says, "The luxury of not getting judged for 'loving' who you want to love should be given to everyone - including women. I feel like so often we're encouraged to keep our 'body count' low, whereas men get high fives for a high number; which is cool, do you, but I think the double standard is wack and women should get high fives too lol. I'm not saying go f** the world - I'm saying f** the unfair judgement."

Stream/purchase "Body Count" online now and watch for the official music video for "Body Count", coming soon. Reyez is set to hit the road this summer in support of Halsey's upcoming US tour, in addition to a handful of international festival dates of her own.
