People Museum's New LP 'I Dreamt You In Technicolor' Now Streaming With Culture Collide
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New Orleans-based alternative pop duo People Museum, composed of producer / trombonist Jeremy Phipps and composer / singer Claire Givens, are preparing to release their debut album I Dreamt You In Technicolor this Friday, September 28th. In anticipation, today the album is available to stream in full via Culture Collide ahead of its release. About the LP, the duo comment: "'I Dreamt You in Technicolor' is the first chapter of People Museum's journey exploring the sounds of future New Orleans. It is a reflection on living in different parts the south and seeing that it can be both suppressive and radical. We want to help the listener be released from the anxieties around them, find a home in our music, and dance."

Previously, People Museum released album singles "Eye 2 Eye" (via BlackBook), "Bible Belt" (via Atwood Magazine), and "Fly By". The new nine-track collection comes after the duo met in 2016 and bonded over their love for pop production, tradition, and their shared experiences of the South. They were eager to start a new project that incorporated the feelings of New Orleans in a non-literal way, and after writing songs for a year, Claire and Jeremy started to make a name for themselves by performing around NOLA, eventually performing at the national Sofar Sounds concert series in 2017. Their debut nine-track collection, engineered by Ross Farbe of Video Age, is highlighted by Givens' ethereal vocals, percussion-soaked hooks, and a dynamic use of horns that reminds listeners of the pair's roots.

Claire is the daughter of an operatic singer and baptist music minister as well as a classically trained pianist and choral teacher who grew up learning to sing in the churches of rural northern Louisiana. Jeremy was raised playing trombone in New Orleans marching bands and traditional jazz groups, and has been able to utilize his skills gained from touring with Solange, Rubblebucket, and AlunaGeorge, while Claire has brought her insight from her continuing work in the classical music world. Together, these experiences have created a unique sonic experience that blends styles and sounds not often brought together, but that ultimately make People Museum's music especially unparallelled.
