Young Readers Releases Chilling Rendition Of "Silent Night"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "The simplicity and honesty from Young Readers indie-folk, shot through with a dreamy, imaginary quality that (whisper it) calls to mind Sparklehorse or Jason Molina." - The Mad Mackerel

The holiday single from indie folk artist, Young Readers, captures an undisturbed shimmering blanket of snow bathed in the light of a full moon. A bare, stirring acapella version of the Christmas classic, "Silent Night" delicately rises like a cold exhale evaporating toward the night sky. The melody commands attention, and warms from within as Jordan Herrera sings each tender word. "Silent Night" is due out on Dec. 14, 2018.

Herrera both splits and creates undeniable tension with each purposeful phrasing. The single, which spans three minutes long places the listener into an unknown, yet familiar winter setting. The stillness is gently cut with the waiver of Herrera's voice and a siren that seems to come out of a dream. The airy atmosphere comes to an ethereal resolution as the song builds to an angelic choir and the faint sounds of children playing. The Juxtaposition of tender, aching "oohs" wading below each casual, lighthearted shriek inflicts waves of emotional contemplation washing away and dissecting each sound.

About Young Readers
Young Readers is the indie folk project of Jordan Herrera. They have released three albums, Family Trees (2012), Big Teeth (2014) and Migrator (2017) - which is being re-released on vinyl this year. They have played NXNE, The Kahbang Music Festival, and Norman Music Festival. The band has shared the stage with John Moreland, The Rocketboys, and From Indian Lakes. The current line-up is Herrera (guitar, vocals), Nathan Lofties (guitar), and Steve Boaz (drums).

Praise for Young Readers
"Jordan Herrera (better known as Young Readers) released his Family Trees EP after a college professor told him he wasn't cut out for school. The creative DIY efforts of Herrera are undeniable considering that each EP sleeve was printed on construction paper and came with a box of crayons, urging us all to create our own album art." —Magnet Magazine

"Jordan Herrera has created more immediately lovable music in 25 minutes than many bands make in a lifetime. Family Trees is a gorgeous, heartfelt EP that will command your ears and heart." —Independent Clauses
