Exes Share "One Day" Ft. Jome With Ones To Watch, Plus New Collaborative EP Coming 2019
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Bicoastal indie-pop duo EXES have teamed up with LA-based synthpop duo JOME for a new EP coming in early 2019. Yesterday, they shared their first collaborative single "One Day" with Live Nation's Ones To Watch, available today on all DSPs. A tragically romantic piece about love, time, and the idea of growing old with someone else, "One Day" is highlighted by dark acoustic and electric guitar riffs and fragile production which give the song a winter landscape, perfect for this time of year. About the track, EXES comment:"'One Day' is almost like our take on a winter love song. It's a song that feels like the soft and romantic first snowfall of the season. Whenever we write with JOME, we always tend to hit that happy-sad sweet spot lyrically and musically. So, although the song is sweet, it hints at themes of love and death- the unknown territory of growing old with someone else."

EXES, composed of Brooklyn-based Allie McDonald and Venice beach-based producerMike Derenzo, create a detail-oriented sort of indie pop driven by post-youth nostalgia and the people of their past; equal parts affectionate and vulnerable in production, lyrics, and melody. EXES' critically acclaimed 2016 debut EP The Art of Saying Goodbyegarnered over 25 million streams across platforms and was covered by the likes of i-D, USA Today, Galore, and more. JOME is made up of LA-based songwriter Jesse Epsteinand New Orleans-based writer and producer Christoph Andersson. The duo split their time between the two cities, creating their unique brand of heartbreaking yet optimistic indie pop, and they've been featured in numerous television shows while amassing over20 million streams on their first album, Tunnels.

"One Day" is the first single from EXES and JOME's upcoming collaboration; the four writers and producers retreated to Marin County in Northern California this past October to write a collection of meaningful songs together. Their previous collaboration resulted in the 2017 single "Better Better" which garnered over 500,000 streams across platforms. When EXES and JOME come together, the result is a diary-like, happy-sing kind of musical moment. The group documented their trip by taking polaroids in their living room-turned-studio, hanging with Mike's dog, Bella.

EXES most recent EP, Before You Go, has received praise from the likes of Billboard, Refinery29, and BlackBook, among many others, and their songs have been featured on ABC's drama Quantico, Netflix's re-boot of the fan favorite Degrassi, and the UK's BAFTA winning Made In Chelsea. They've had multiple singles chart on Hype Machine's Top 10 and have been featured on Taylor Swift's "Songs Taylor Loves", along with being featured on Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday, Indie Pop, and Chill Vibes. Over the course of their career, they've amassed over 45 million Spotify streams and the band has opened for the likes of Børns and Ella Vos.
