LONDON, UK (Water
Music Records) - At the tender age of 17, Manchester-born Ashley Jade has not only worked alongside top names in the music world, she's also an accomplished actress. A singer/songwriter and British film ("
About A Girl") /television ("When I Was 12") star, Jade has just released her American debut as a solo artist. The CD, entitled Dreaming, was primarily written by her and is on Water
Music Dance, a division of Water
Music Records.
Ashley started working with Love To Infinity's Andy and Pete Lee (Madonna, Mariah Carey, Anastacia) at 16 and was a part of the UK edition of Soda Club. She made her big screen film debut earlier this year in the
David Thewlis film, "Cheeky," which was just picked up by Warner Bros. for U.S. distribution.
Dreaming, produced by Andy and Pete Lee, contains 10 trance-flavored songs (eight written by Jade) and four remixes. The first single, "Let Me Be Your Fantasy," debuted at No 19 on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales Chart. The song also debuted at No 105 on the Nielsen Soundscan's Top Singles Sales Chart and was a Top 10 best-selling single for Tower Records nationwide for three (3) weeks straight! The track is Ashley's take on the immensely popular Baby D song from 1994. The video companion for "Let Me Be Your Fantasy" was filmed in Manchester and pays homage to the famous LA Dance Troupe "Pussycat Dolls." The next single from the record is called "On The Run."
Ashley will embark on a national promotional tour in the U.S. this spring and summer. She toured with
Soda Club in Japan last fall.
Dreaming is now in stores across North America. Water
Music Dance is a division of Water
Music Records and distributed in cooperation with Varese Sarabande by Universal
Music & Video Distribution.
