London, UK (V2 Music) - For the first time ever a major UK radio station, in partnership with V2 Music is compiling original music based content for podcast. Thanks to alternative rock radio station Xfm, Manchester band Elbow and their record label V2 Music, fans can enjoy free, legal podcasts containing full-length music tracks on their MP3 players.
The 15minute podcast, available via iTunes now, features exclusive versions of three songs from Elbow's current album, Leaders Of The Free World, and excerpts from an interview with lead singer Guy Garvey, all recorded especially for Xfm.

This is the first time that major artists in the UK have released the rights to allow their music to be included in a podcast. Podcasts, downloadable versions of radio shows, have in a short time become a global online phenomenon, but have to date only included speech content as rights owners have not allowed the use of music.
