Reggae For Christ Hits The Air Waves

ATLANTA, GA. (www.reggaeforchrist.com) - What do reggae music and the gospel of Christ have in common? When most people hear the words 'reggae music' they immediately think of Bob Marley, one of the most famous Rastafarians to emerge from Jamaica. But if you listen to the words of most of Bob Marley's music you will realize that he quotes regularly from the Bible.

Reggae is not normally associated with Christianity. However Tennyson Walters, president of OFMB (Our Father's Music Business) had a vision to spread the good news of Jesus Christ worldwide and he uses different forms of music to reach those who would normally not listen to gospel music.

The Jamaican born Walters grew up listening to reggae music as part of his culture. Being a devout Christian, he was able to recognize the spirituality that is the underlying thread on which reggae music was born. Ironically, when Walters decided to do 'Reggae For Christ', God connected him to Judy Mowatt of I-Threes fame (Judy Mowatt, Rita Marley and Marcia Griffiths), former back-up singers for Bob Marley and the Wailers. Mowatt, a former Rastafarian herself is also now a devout Born Again Christian and worked with Walters on the project.

'Reggae For Christ' was recorded in Jamaica W.I., and will be released to the public on January 21, 2006. The album features many of Jamaica's leading artists such as the legendary Judy Mowatt; Katalys Crew - Jamaica's No 1 Gospel Reggae Band; 2003 Jamaica Festival award winner Kevin Downswell; European and Jamaican chart topper Mikey Spice; and noted artists Andrew Lawrence, TNJ, Paul 'Lymie' Murray and Kellian Bernard.

The album is also blessed with many of Jamaica's most talented musicians like Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare, Dean Fraser, Earl 'Chinna' Smith, Wilburn 'Squidly' Cole, Glen Browne, Dalton Browne, Othniel Lewis, Winston 'Bopee' Bowen, Alex Blacken Martin, Raymond 'Bowie' McClaughin, Usiah 'Sticky' Thompson, Billy Lawrence, Errol 'African' Graham, Harry T. Powell, Kirk Bennett, Dwight Davis, Errol Hurd, Christopher Burt, George Miller, Danny Lewis, Deleon 'Jubba' White, Clifton Johnny Clark, Paul Barclay, Courick Clarke, Garnet Gibson, and Collin 'Ruff Cut' White.

'Reggae For Christ' will be available at www.reggaeforchrist.com, Tower Records, Amazon.com, Target.com, Borders.com, BestBuy.com. and CDBaby.com. You can also download at Itunes, Yahoo Music, MSN Music, AOL Music, Napster, Rhapsody/Real, MusicNow, Audiolunchbox, and Musicmatch.

Reggae music has emerged lately on the pop-culture scene in many forms such as Reggaeton, so why not Gospel. God uses many ways to communicate to His people in a way in which they can connect and hear the message of Jesus Christ.

'Our mission in producing this album is succinctly expressed in Isaiah 61: 1-3', says Walters. 'We trust that when you listen to this album you will experience the joy of the Holy Spirit.'
