NASHVILLE, TN (Carrie Underwood Official Website) - It has been a great week for Carrie Underwood. Her debut album Some Hearts was just certified triple platinum and last night her 6-week No 1 single 'Jesus, Take The Wheel' won a Gospel Music Association Award as Country Recorded Song of The Year during the event held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Underwood was unable to attend the GMA Awards as she was in Wilmington, North Carolina performing in concert. Upon learning of the news just before she hit the stage last night, Underwood said 'it's been amazing how this song has impacted so many people in so many ways. I am honored to have had the chance to be the singer to bring this song to people.' Underwood has more award nominations at next week's CMT Music Awards- Breakthrough Video of The Year, Most Inspiring Video, and Female Video of The Year- all for 'Jesus, Take The Wheel.' She has also garnered four nominations at the Academy of Country Music Awards- New Female Vocalist, Female Vocalist and Single and Song Of The Year for 'Jesus, Take The Wheel.'
