Winter Park, FL (FULL SAIL REAL WORLD EDUCATION) - On Thursday, May 11, 2006 Full Sail Real World Education welcomed legendary Producer/Engineer, Bruce Swedien, to the Full Sail campus.
Swedien is best known for his work with artists such as: Paul McCartney, Quincy Jones, Jennifer Lopez, Duke Ellington and Michael Jackson, who he worked with on the album "Thriller" which was the biggest selling record of all time. Swedien spoke to the students of the Full Sail Recording Arts Degree Program, and was presented with an honorary Full Sail degree by President, Garry Jones. Swedien is the third recipient of an honorary degree from Full Sail's Recording Arts Program. Previous honorees include Re-Recording Mixer, Ken Teaney and Producer/Engineer, Bob Ezrin.
In addition, Swedien reunited with former studio intern and Full Sail graduate, Ashish Manchanda, who traveled back to the United States from his successful career in India. Manchanda has mixed, recorded and mastered a long and impressive list of movie soundtracks and music albums in India and currently runs his music production company, Flying Carpet Productions. In the U.S., Manchanda served as an intern with Swedien and worked with him on the highly talented girl group, "Les Go," and songs for the Indo-Italian Film, "Senso-Unico."
Known as the 'Godfather of Recording,' Swedien is also a local resident of Central Florida, and currently owns a farm in the area of Ocala.
