(Chely Wright Official Website) - Chely Wright paid a special visit to Holy Cross School in New Orleans this past Monday, August 14, where she presented the students with a grand musical gift on their first day of the school year. Wright, Founder of Reading, Writing & Rhythm, donated sheet music and a variety of instruments to enable the school to re-establish their middle school and high school bands after it suffered severe damage when Hurricane Katrina ravaged the area in August of last year. Wright presented the students with an assortment of band instruments and small hand-held percussion instruments (valued at more than $13,000): 5 standard flutes, 5 clarinets, 2 Alto saxophones, 2 tenor saxophones, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 1 single French Horn, 1 double French Horn, 1 6" triangle, 1 8" triangle, 1 10" triangle, 2 17" log Guiros, 1 Casbasa, 2 sets Woodblocks, 1 10" Tambourine, 2 sets Cowbells, 4 sets Rosewood Claves, 1 set Desk Bells, 3 sets Bongos, 3 sets wood marachas, 6 pairs drumsticks and 1 snare drum kit.
