DETROIT, (Project Producers, LLC) - With two Gold Records under his belt, R&B Songwriter/Singer/Producer KEM is launching a campaign, "The Road to Platinum," in an effort to push his two Universal Motown CD releases, "Kemistry" and "KEM ALBUM II," over the top to achieve the Platinum selling status. After being named Radio & Records' No 2 R&B Artist for 2005 with his hit single, "I Can't Stop Loving You," designated by R&R and Billboard as the No 1 Adult R&B Record of the Year for 2005, KEM remains under a quarter shy of Platinum. So, KEM is hitting the streets, reaching out to new audiences and eliciting the help of his fans to push his record sales in order to garner the record industry's acclaimed recognition of 1 million to achieve a Platinum Record.

"Both CDs are close with just under 250,000 to go," said KEM. "Every artist has a milestone they are determined to reach. At this point in my career, my goal is Platinum."

"There is an accepted industry perception that regards an artist on a higher level once he/she achieves a platinum record which in turn opens up numerous opportunities within the music industry itself. It is my task to make sure those doors are opened for KEM," said Toya Hankins, KEM's Manager and president of Project Producers, LLC.

Similar to how he got started, KEM is taking matters into his own hands. In 2002, KEM independently released "Kemistry" selling over 10,000 copies on the streets before being signed to Motown. KEM's "Road to Platinum" campaign will incorporate the support of fans to get the word out to new audiences and allow fans to monitor his climb to Platinum via a Soundscan barometer on his website, https://www.kemistryrecords.com . Fans should keep their ears to the pavement because KEM may show up in their town for a "Platinum Lounge Series" (intimate concert) or "Conversations with KEM" (meet and greet). The plan will also include listening parties and a video recording of a live concert for a potential release on DVD.

KEM's scheduled upcoming appearances include: Baltimore, MD (Sept. 15); Trenton, NJ (Sept. 16); Washington, DC (Sept. 17); South Hampton, Bermuda (Oct. 20); Newark, NJ (Dec. 15) and Montgomery, AL (Dec. 16).
