NEW YORK (Grammy Website - Latin Academy) - Colombian singer Carlos Vives leads the filed of 3rd Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards nominees with six nominations, as announced Wednesday (July 24) at a press conference in Beverly Hills.

Vives, who won a GRAMMY Award this February for Best Tropical Album, is up for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Contemporary Tropical Album, Best Tropical Song, and Best Music Video for D�jame Entrar and the title track.

Celia Cruz is next up for the most nominations with four for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Salsa Album, and Best Music Video for La Negra Tiene Tumbao and its title track. Earning three nods apiece are Miguel Bos�, Emilio Estefan, Juanes, Gian Marco, and Alejandro Sanz, while La Ley, Dori Caymmi, Circo, and Sin Bandera are up for two each.
Other nominees include Shakira, Paulina Rubio, and Vicente Fernandez, who will be honored as the 2002 LARAS Person of the Year.

The awards are set for Sept. 18 at the Kojak Theater in Hollywood and will air live on CBS from 9-11 p.m. EDT/PDT. The show's host and performers have not been announced yet.
