LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Akashic Records) - After the brilliant reception received from her filmed performance at the legendary RAK studios (The Kooks, Arctic Monkeys, Adele, Paul McCartney), Lou Cowell is releasing her single 'Just Like Me' via newly formed Akashic Records on the 24th of November.

The 3 1/2 minute long single taken from her debut album 'I...Um' has already received huge praise from internet radio stations and is now expected to catapult Lou Cowell into the mainstream with it's instantly catchy melodies, contemporary pop vibes and emotional lyrics of self-confidence and insecurity in today's society that listeners everywhere will relate to.

This is the perfect introductory single for this singer/songwriter who is becoming known for speaking the thoughts every female thinks but is too afraid to admit. Cowell states: 'All you need to do to find out who I am is to ask yourself who you are.'

The song, which she surprisingly wrote nine years ago, has an accompanying animated Mr Benn-themed music video which is expected to bring warm memories to those familiar with the 1970s cult animated series. It depicts Lou as her own animated character as she performs her daily tasks and life roles including rescuing animals for Britain's largest wildlife refuge with her father Simon Cowell (presenter and producer of the 'Wildlife S.O.S' television programme).

Lou Cowell was recently snapped up by Chrysalis publishing and has already written a top ten hit performed by French pop sensation Emmanulle Moire. Her version of this superb hit entitled 'A Good Day', also on her debut album, is set to become Cowell's next single, released in early 2009. She has also worked alongside renown producers/writers Bacon and Quarmby (Sugababes, Eagle-Eye Cherry), Neil Davidge (Massive Attack), Phill Brown (Joni Mitchell), Brio Talleferro (Sophie Eliis Bextor), Tom Levin (Award-winning Swedish artist) and Jay Stapley (Mike Oldfield, Suede) who produced her album with an 'artist mentality' throughout their controversial session.

Her new website www.loucowell.com has just been launched alongside a revamped Myspace at www.myspace.com/loucowell.
