New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Red Velvet Official Website) - On Wednesday, January 7th, RED VELVET, a revolutionary e-commerce technology designed specifically for the music industry will take center stage at Billboard Digital Music Live! at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The event, which is expected to attract hundreds of industry insiders, will feature a presentation by Scott Cave, CEO of Rook Interactive, the makers of RED VELVET. Cave will be sharing his vision for the future of the digital music industry with details about the cutting-edge platform his team designed that successfully bridges the gap between the recording industry and music fans. Cave's RED VELVET presentation will take place at 3:30 pm in the North Hall, room N255-257 following sessions with international hip hop sensation, Akon and the Executive VP of Universal Music's Elabs.

"In an era of declining record sales and increased online file sharing, the music industry needs a new model that offers more choice and gives artists, labels and distributors a better way to communicate with their fans directly," said Scott Cave, CEO of Rook Interactive. "With RED VELVET, we are offering a viable alternative with a proven track record of success."

RED VELVET is an original e-commerce platform that has been developed to easily adapt to a variety of applications. The technology enables record labels to quickly launch individual artists' e-commerce sites and manage them through a centralized administration system. It facilitates the sale of digital music as well as physical merchandise such as CDs, LPs and t-shirts. By integrating directly with the client's merchant accounts, RED VELVET clients enjoy one of the highest profit margins per transaction in the industry.

Most recently, Rook Interactive successfully adapted its RED VELVET application for Oceanship (www.oceanshipmusic.com), an independent music duo consisting of Brad Lyons and Carly Paradis. Despite interest from several labels, the two have chosen to forgo a deal with a record label altogether.

"Red Velvet has provided Oceanship with all the tools they need to do business on their own terms," said Mark Avsec, Manager of Oceanship and partner at Belkin-Avsec. "We're very happy with the results since the launch of Oceanshipmusic.com."

Avsec is a former member of the band Wild Cherry best known for their hit "Play that Funky Music." Avsec is also a writer and producer for numerous recording artists including all Donnie Iris and the Cruisers' recordings.
