Boone's song "Mending Fences" from his self-titled debut album snagged the top "Country Song
" of the ISSA Christian Songwriting Contest this week, with the organization noting that Boone is "an artist who writes and performs with a most generous soul." The award comes as part of an international competition supporting the disciplines of songwriting, musicianship and performance in the Christian independent music community.
In "Mending Fences," Boone's lyrics hold a message of perseverance and inner strength during hard times as he sings: "I'm turnin' wrongs back into rights. I'm mending fences. Gonna get some grace and open my eyes."
In other award news, Boone's single "Country Living" has been nominated in the Country Song Category by the 9th annual Independent Music Awards.
