LAS VEGAS (NBC) -
Avril Lavigne has a leading five nominations for the 2003
Radio Music Awards. Other nominees include
50 Cent with four, and
Eminem and
Coldplay who have three each. The two-hour show will be broadcast
live on NBC from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on October 27, from the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. The awards celebrate the popularity of musicians on radio stations nationwide. The selection of this year's nominees is based on the amount of radio airplay as determined by Mediabase, the medium's leading source for tracking airplay.
The show will feature performances from some of the biggest names in rock, country, and alternative music, according to NBC.
In past years, Elton John, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Mary J. Blige, Mick Jagger and Pink were among the top names in music that participated in the show.
