NEW YORK (Top 40 Charts) - Sum 41 is joining Good Charlotte, Green Day, Pennywise, NOFX and a whole slew of American pop-punk bands to raise political awareness and encourage their fans to vote against GeorgeBush in the next U.S. presidential election.
Each group will contribute a track to an upcoming compilation called "Rock Against Bush" which will be accompanied by a Rock Against Bush Tour around election time. The CD and tour are being organized and funded by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and NOFX singer/bass player Fat Mike.
Two tours - one around the release of the album and the other closer to next year's presidential election - are also in the planning stages, most likely to consist of free concerts on college campuses. The tour will probably be named Punkvoter, after Fat Mike's political awareness organization. Money from sales of the album will go into print and television ads encouraging young people to vote Bush out of the White House. Fat Mike told MTV.com he hopes to have "one or two famous punk rockers" appear in the ads.

Time America woke up seems the ground swell is starting , a little late but for god's sake got to get Bush/ Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfawitz out of power it may be too late, either way it is going to take years to undo all the harm they have done not just to America but to Americans and the rest of the world. The US media has had its head stuck in the sand since 9/11 any other country would have had a relovolution by now, or at least taken notice of the blatant lies and deceipt. I'm not even a politicaly motovated person but I am mad as hell at what they have been let to get a way with.

Ministry is also on the CD. Their No W song is one of the best tracks on there and it's an exclusive version of the tune. Another version will be on their new House of the Mole cd.

It's really a shame that good bands can't just focus on the music. They have to go and get all political. The really sad part is, they don't get all of the facts right!

I really hope that country musicians release County against Kerry... wait a minute, they wouldn't be stupid enough to do that. The real sad thing here is that half these bands suck and are washed up and the other half ARE CANADIAN!!! Give me a break. I hope this flops and falls flat out. I've heard some of the songs. They suck. I have started hating sum 41 and new found glory ever since they decided to become political. They don't even ****in vote in America.
I agree with conservative punk, who said that most of the liberals don't get their facts right. They believe what the TV and Internet tell them because that is all they have ever believed in. Why can't people just band together for more than 3 minutes and support our country. I guess they would rather have terrorists and lunatics blow **** up everywhere in America, rather than go to war and try to stop it from happening again. I hope terrorists bomb a Sum 41 concert. The irony would be sweet.

RockagainstKerry...you are indeed a fool. I'm not saying a fool for supporting Bush, but just reading your post made me shake my head in shame of what our internet and country has produced as "contributing members of society." There is no real problem about becoming political as a musician. Musician is about expressing feelings and making statements, whether they be political, about hating ex-girlfriends, whatever. That's what this CD does. It doesn't matter that they don't vote in America. You make false generalizations and uninformed guesses on their source of information. If they believe what TV and internet tells them and it's wrong, where do YOU get your information that is apparently "correct?" Think about that. Hypocricy at it's finest (or dumbest as it may be in this case.)
Going to war against terrorism is not necessarily wrong. The way Bush goes about doing it is wrong. Because of his stupidity, he possibly has completely lost allies that would be helpful in the future because he was too anxious. If he would've not pushed as fast and as hard, he would have likely retained our allies, and the war on terrorism would continue. Simple as that.
And shame on your for shooting down these bands for bashing people, when you have done it yourself. You bashed them, and you bashed Canadians for no apparent reason. The only assumption I can make is that your a racist white trash piece of **** from the worthless south of America. You've got to realize the simple fact that everyone has opinions, and yours are extremely prejudiced in one manor as theirs is in another.
Note: The Dixie Chicks (which are country musicians if you failed to catch that point) already bashed Bush at a show.

I agree with Rockagainstkerry
Infinity you repeatedly contradict yourself in your arguement, and bring up unrelated points that serve no significance.
Pop punk sucks, its too bad that all the people who listen to pop punk are in the 6th grade, and are not of age to vote.
Canadians suck and so do the Dixie Chicks

I am 18, and will buy this Cd, and WILL vote against Bush. I promise you this. However, the entire arguement about this Cd is quite stupid. Reason being...freedom of speech. That is all this Cd and Tour is. Simply Freedom of Speech. Shoe, if you are going to bash punk rockers, I would like to know what the hell you were doing in this forum anyway. I believe that Infinity had a valid arguement and that those of you who want to continue this utterly pointless discussion in a 6th grade maner (SHOE), do what you would like, but try to keep the stupidity to a dull roar.

I WILL STATE THAT I AM NOT HERE TO VOICE MY OPINIONS IN A WAY TO HOPEFULLY NOT BE FOUND RUDE OR CRUEL BY ANYONE. I DO UNDERSTAND THAT EVERYONE IS FREE TO HAVE THEIR OWN OPINION HOWEVER I DO ALSO UNDERSTAND EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO DISAGREE W/ SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION. I DO BELIEVE THE WAY THESE MUSICIAN'S HAVE CHOSE TO GO ABOUT VOICING THEIR OPINIONS IS WRONG, MOSTLY BECAUSE OF THE COMMENTS THEY ARE STATING TO BACK THEIR OPINIONS IF YOU ARE NOT A REPUBLICAN THAT IS FINE IF YOU ARE NOT A DEMOCRATE THAT IS FINE. HOWEVER IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE W/ BUSH DO NOT THROUGH ALL REPULICAN'S INTO YOUR BATTLE, FOR ONE YOUR ASSUMING THAT EVERY REPUBLICAN BACKS BUSH'S DECISIONS WHICH IS FALSE & YOU ARE ALSO PUSHING YOUR REPUBLICAN AUDIENCES AWAY, I DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD LISTEN OR PURCHASE ANYONE MUSIC & OR MOVIES WHO CHOSE TO STATE THAT WHAT I BELIEVE IS WRONG FOR NO MORE REASON THAN THAT THEY BELIEVE THEY ARE RIGHT.
I DO BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE IS FREE TO THEIR CHOICE, IN EVERYTHING, I WOULD NEVER STAND IN A CONCERT HALL FULL OF PEOPLE & STATE THAT EVERY PERSON WHO DOES NOT SEE SOMETHING MY WAY IS WRONG, ESPECIALLY W/ OUT HAVING FACTS TO BACK THAT UP.
I AM A REPUBLICAN WHICH I AM SURE EVERYONE HAD MADE THAT ASSUMTION BY NOW. I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST AYONE WHO FEELS OTHER WISE NOR DOES THE WAY I MIGHT VOTE DEFENITLY DETERMINE IF SOMEONE HAS A GOOD STAND AND STATES THEY ARE DEMOCRATES THAT I WOULD NOT VOTE FOR THEM.
BUT MAKING FAST JUDGEMENTS ABOUT ONCE POLITICAL STANCE, MAKING THEM ONE TYPE OF PERSON, LEADS TO FALSE INFORMATION, JUST BECAUSE I AM A REPUBLICAN DOES NOT MEAN I AM THE SAME AS ANOTHER, NOR DOES ONES STATEMENT IN THEIR WAY OF STATING THEIR OPINION AGAINST REPUBLICANS LEAD ME TO DISLIKE ALL DEMOCRATES.
FEEL FREE TO AGREE & OR DISAGREE W/ ANY COMMENT MADE IS THIS STATEMENT, FOR THAT IS YOUR RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN SOME OTHER PEOPLE IN AMERICA SHOULD LEARN THAT BEFORE THEY SPEAK.

Alrighty...I just stumbled across this and decided to add my voice to the mix so here goes:
Rockagainstkerry, you raise a TON of valid, good points ( guess they would rather have terrorists and lunatics blow **** up everywhere in America, rather than go to war and try to stop it from happening again)
As does infinity: but his are too wordy to quote so yeah.
Shoe on the other hand...you just suck and are very very wrong. end of story.
Here's my opinion, read it or skip it it's up to you. I'm a conservative republican for the most part...especially on issues of economics, welfare, etc. as far as this upcomin election goes: I'm gonna buy this album, but I still support Bush's re-election. It's like the lesser off two evils...except neither is evil but it's a figure of speech. No matter what, the next president is ****ed. this whole thing with Iraq, and this unwinnable "War on Terrorism"
Bush started this thing, he got way in over his head, ****ed up and got us to where we are. He lied to the nation, he got us on even worse terms with the rest of the world, and dragged us into an impossible war. I don't think we should have ever started any of it. HOWEVER, now that we are in, we can't really back out. Bush started it, he should finish it. To pull out now would put Iraq off worse than it was under Suddam.
This war on Terrorism? It's stupid and impossible. Terror and Terrorism have been around since...forever, for lack of a more specific time. it's not something you can declare war on. Terrorism is not a group of people, it's a way of life, a way of waging war, yes there are groups of terrorists. but there are too many different groups, with too many members to every defeat.
Also. People ***** and wine about how many soldiars we lose in Iraq. Statistically they are more likely to die from getting hit by lightning than by gunfire...just something to ponder.
Recap: I realize spelling and grammer in that shpeel suck. I'm over it, you should be too. my main point is: Bush started it, he should finish it. He got in too far to pull out, farther than he should have but he can't turn back.
I'm gonna but this album, maybe buy a couple for friends. I can't vote, but If I could I would vote for Bush though I believe Kerry would be a better leader as a whole.

I may not that much about american politics so if i am not totally correct in what i am saying, please try to understand the general gist.
One thing i would like to say first is i resent anything that has the word pop and punk or rock because pop is just some ****** getting ***** to sing about something they dont care about and is just words on a sheet to them that will earn them money
i agree with lensink bush has got in so far there is no way he could pull out now. but he is good if you want someone in controll of your country who executes retards and if you watch the dvd it will show that there was something fishy about the elections
im off to watch die hard but i will finish this.

I'm all for the "Rock Against Bush" thing. Bush has caused the world nought but trouble since he got into office. Clearly someone was pissed off with him; not a year after he was elected, the twin towers were torn down.
But the part I dislike about the 'Rock Against Bush" is the fact that they merely want Bush out of office. If Bush goes, Kerry comes in. Yes, the Vietnam obsessed candidate. My personal opinion, he's more of a moron than Bush. In the third debate, straight out of the blue, he mentioned that the vice presidents daughter was a lesbian. I couldn't help laughing at him. But seriously, look at what Bush has done politically to Iraq. Right under Americans noses. He REPLACED THE CURRENT FORM OF GOVERNMENT. Yes, shocking isn't it...Amazing how all you yanks care about is fixing the government. Well here's a newsflash for you: Your government lies too much. My solution: overthrow it and re-establish a new one. Too much work? Then you deserve to suffer.
oh, and about the comments on Canadians caring, you see we Canadians are right next door (yes I'm Canadian) and we have to care about what happens. If Bush gets too out of hand and becomes a meglomaniac (he'd have pretty much destroyed what's known as the middle east as of now), he'd be coming straight for Canada in the former American belief of 'manifest destiny'. For those who don't know what this monstorsity is, it's the American belief that Americans are to control all of North America. We Canadians aren't closed in to focus on our own political debates. We care whether or not a moron is in American office or not.
So put it this way: Do your homework (metaphorically speaking) before you decide to trash someone, and actually think for yourselves. Yes, think. It's hard to believe, but humans are able to do this, try it. Maybe you Bush/Kerry supporters will realize that your candidates are morons, and so are you for following them.

A RockagainstKerry, one final statement...You said that you hoped terrorists bomb a Sum 41 concert. This can be taken as pro-terrorism, hypocrit.
