Escape To New York Announces Think Camp: An Eclectic Speakers Corner Curated By Guerilla Science
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Pam Workman/ WE + PR) Escape to New York, the three-day art, music and interactive performance party held on the picturesque Shinnecock Reservation adjacent to Southampton, NY, today announces its collaboration with Guerilla Science to present the E2NY "Think Camp, " an eclectic speakers corner to enlighten and engage attendees.

By creating eye opening and unconventional atmospheres for attendees the "Think Camp" will merge science with art to challenge the misconception that science is mundane and boring. The full Think Camp line-up will be posted daily at the Think Camp blackboard.

Highlights of the E2NY "Think Camp" Presented by Guerilla Science will include:

Jon Mayes, Bed of Nails and Other Treats: Entertains audiences all over the East Coast with his van full of rogue physics experiments from Rutgers University. When he is not acting as the meat in a bed-of-nails sandwich he is working towards his master's in Physics Education.

Robert Marbury, The Vegan-Taxidermist of the Urban Beast Project: Come marvel at his collection of stuffed animals from around the lands!

Dave Carmel, Neurological Wonders: A postdoctoral fellow at New York University, Dave researches visual awareness and consciousness. His neurological wonders present illusions beyond imagination. You will not believe your eyes!

Zoe Cormier, Music and the Brain: Explores how music is embedded into our heads, and culture. Cormier is a science writer with a background in zoology and one of the founding members of Guerilla Science. If you are her friend on Facebook, you will know that she lists two things as her religious beliefs: 1. Animals are cool. 2. Turn up the bass.

Mark Rosin, Putting the Sun in a Box: Energy scientist extraordinaire explains how to harness the power of the sun, by putting it in magnetic box! Rosin is a practicing physicist working in astrophysics and fusion energy at UCLA. When not dressed as Banana (see Guerilla Science's website), he likes to muse on life, the universe and everything....

Olivia Koski, How to Destroy Things With Light: A laser-weapons engineer sheds light on the sober life of military laser weapons research and why the ultimate laser weapon remains a Hollywood and military fantasy...for now. Koski is a laser weapons engineer turned digital journalist living in New York City.

Mark Skwarek, Augmented Reality: A new media artist working to bridge the gap between virtual reality and the real world by using augmented reality and multi-user online environments to bring a virtual context into physical space.

Dirty Sexy Science Pub Quiz (with prizes): Roll up, roll up. Get y'er science here. A pub quiz that will make you blush!

Music vs. Mind: Engage in an immersive experience which gives the user an artistic interface to their core emotions though an EEG headset and bespoke sonic environment.

As previously announced, Escape to New York will also feature 3 days of eclectic music on the main-stage featuring: Patti Smith, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, of Montreal, Best Coast, The Vaccines, The Jolly Boys, Chairlift, The Psychedelic Furs, Mates of State, The Ettes, White Rabbits, Reptar, Tiger Love, Au Revoir Simone, Lissy Trulie, The Postelles, The Submarines, Graffiti 6, Savoir Adore, Static Jacks and more.
