LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ LUCK Media & Marketing) Italian-born, U.S. based acoustic guitarist Peppino D'Agostino (www.peppinodagostino.com) is gearing up to fly "Nine White Kites" - the name of his recently released first album of new compositions for the guitar in a decade - in several cities during his upcoming tour, starting on the East Coast on Wednesday, April 11 at the Nightcat in Easton, Md.

Known for what the Chicago Tribune praises as his "virtuosity and complexity," as well as his gift for composing "memorable melodies," the renowned multi-talented performer brings his trademark poetic eloquence and grace to venues in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. (The Bayou Restaurant, April 12); Wakefield, R.I. (Wakefield Music, April 14); Ridgefield, Conn. (Ridgefield Library, April 15); Ringwood, N.J. (Live at Drew's, April 15); Wellsville, N.Y. (Nancy A. Howe Auditorium, April 18); Charleston, W.V. (Charleston Jazz Series, April 20); Staunton, Va.(Mockingbird, April 21); Sellersville, Penn. (Sellersville Theater, April 22); Three Rivers, Mich. (Riviera Theatre, April 27) and Hart, Mich. (Oceana Folk Series, April 28).

D'Agostino has been hailed as "a guitarist's guitarist" by Acoustic Guitar magazine as well as "a giant of the acoustic guitar" (San Diego Reader), and holds many top guitar awards, but the San Francisco Chronicle encapsulated the essential difference that distinguishes D'Agostino's music when it dubbed him "a poet."

"The title 'Nine White Kites' reflects the fact that music is weightless," D'Agostino observes. "But if you think about it, it can create very deep and heavy feelings. The kite is very light, like music, but it also can evoke feelings. Plus it symbolizes a sense of freedom, and kites are universal, found all around the world."

D'Agostino has made a considerable international mark as a musical artist on the guitar since he arrived in America a little over 25 years ago. The readers of Guitar Player voted him Best Acoustic Guitarist in 2007, and the following year in Acoustic Guitar's People's Choice Awards he won a Bronze medal for Best Acoustic Album of All Time for his 2002 release "Every Step of The Way" (tying with Leo Kottke, one of his prime inspirations) and another Bronze award as Fingerstyle Guitarist of the Year.
