Finnish Pop Star Saara Aalto To Perform At The Award & Closing Ceremony For The Shanghai International Film Festival

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Saara Aalto official website) Following a successful performance in Shanghai earlier this year, opening for Spanish tenor José Carreras and singing several songs in Chinese, Saara Aalto returns to the city to perform at the Closing Ceremony of the Shanghai International Film Festival on Sunday, June 23.

Saara Aalto is one of Finland's brightest rising stars. A multilingual (she speaks six languages: English, Finnish, Chinese, Japanese, Swedish, and French) singer-songwriter from Helsinki, Saara started her musical career very young, composing her first songs at the age of five and playing piano by seven.

Saara's meteoric rise began in 2007 when she placed second on Finland's Got Talent. She followed that up with second-place finishes at Finland's Eurovision Song Contest finals in 2011 and on The Voice of Finland in 2012. Also in 2012, Saara was asked to sing the Finnish versions of two songs for Disney/Pixar's Brave.

Saara has released two albums on Finland's Yume Records: 2010's Blessed with Love and 2011's Christmas-themed Enkeleitä - Angels, both hits in Finland. In addition to her singing career, Saara is also an accomplished actress, having starred as Dorothy and Phannee in the Finnish production of Wicked - The Musical and as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Saara recently completed her new album, You Had My Heart, to be released in China in July 2013.
