R&B Sensation Shyann Selected To Perform On The BET Rap-It-Up Campaign
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ UrbanAddictionPR) After spreading her wings through the Sunshine State like a sweet Southern breeze with her latest hit single "Shawty" featuring Famous Kid Brick, 18-year-old Tampa Bay native Shyann has been handpicked to perform on the nationally televised BET Rap-It-Up Campaign.

The campaign is an ongoing, multi-faceted national awareness and call-to-action campaign addressing HIV, AIDS and other health concerns affecting the African-American community while promoting safe sex through education. The show will be held at Clark Atlanta University on April 25 and hosted by St. Petersburg, Fla.-based 95.7 The Beat radio personality DJ Chase. The program will air on BET's multiple platforms in 32 countries.

"I'm so excited to perform on the Rap-It-Up Campaign," admits. Shyann. "Not only am I helping to raise awareness about a subject that we all should be discussing but I'll get to share my music with a broader audience. This is a win-win opportunity for the fans, for the public at large and for me as an artist."

Performing since she was two, this darling, little song bird has been winning the hearts of audiences from her native Florida all the way up the East Coast. Shyann became the first person to ever open for her native St. Petersburg's annual "Dr. Martin Luther King's Battle of the Bands" contest and made her national television appearance bringing down the house on "It's Showtime At the Apollo."

Along with that, she opened a show for Grammy Award-winning artist LL Cool J at the Tampa Rays' Summer Concert Tour at Tropicana Field. And just last November, Shyann performed in a three-day tour where she sang a duet with American Idol finalist Michael Lynch and the Florida Orchestra at Manhaffey Theatre, Straz Center, Ruthe Eckerd Hall.

Continuing to build momentum for the Spring release of her forthcoming Edgestone Music Group independent debut EP I'm Just A Girl, Shyann is gearing up to electrify the stage during the BET Rap-It-Up Campaign.

"I've been singing and performing almost all my life. And I work hard at it," she says. "So it's always flattering to be recognized for my talents. And I look forward to using these talents to raise more awareness about the importance of safe sex."

Joining BET in the effort to bring awareness are the Kaiser Family Foundation, Magic Johnson Foundation, LIFEBeat, Cable Positive, X-AIDS and Gospel Today Magazine.
