Lawson Rollins Enlists International Collaborators - From Iranian And Nepalese Musicians To Buckethead - For Globe Spannning Album Elevation (Oct 18, Infinita Records)
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Lawson Rollins' forthcoming album Elevation was recorded in far-flung locales such as Nepal, Iran and the U.S. and features nearly 20 international musical collaborators and producers. With production work from multi-instrumentalist Shahin Shahida, lyrics in Farsi based on the work of Iranian poet Hafez, string arrangements by Grammy-winning violinist Charlie Bisharat, and electric guitar tracks from legendary metal guitarist Buckethead, the eclectic gathering has resulted in an album unlike any other.

"Nepali musicians, with their rich and colorful culture, offer performances as beautiful as their natural surroundings," says associate-producer William Aura, "It was indeed my pleasure to personally record Sarangi master Kiran Nepali, percussionist extraordinaire Raju Maharjan and flute giant Rubin Shrestha in a humble Kathmandu studio." Co-producer Shahin Shahida adds, "I presented the tune "Persian Nights" to a master Santur player named Pejman Ekhtiari, for the recording session in Esfehan, Iran. It is enlightening to see how traditional players interpret a song imported from the U.S."
