New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ BMI Official Website) BMI Presents Composer/Director Roundtable "Music & Film: The Creative Process" At Sundance 2012BMI, the U.S. performing right organization, and the Sundance Film Festival will present the 14th annual Composer/Director Roundtable and 10th annual Snowball during the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, slated for January 19-29 in Park City, Utah.

Entitled "Music & Film: The Creative Process," BMI's roundtable will take place on Wednesday, January 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sundance House presented by HP (638 Park Avenue).

The Snowball - also on Wednesday, January 25 at the Sundance House and presented by HP - will feature 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Donovan ("Mellow Yellow," "Season of the Witch," "Sunshine Superman"), as well as Dawes, Zach Heckendorf and a very special guest. Snowball begins at 8 p.m. and is open to festival badge holders.

BMI's "Music & Film: The Creative Process" roundtable is a cornerstone event at the festival on the role of music in film. Focusing on the relationship between composer and director, participants will discuss what goes into creating a successful film score, the ingredients of an effective composer/director relationship and more.

Panelists include composer Peter Golub - the Sundance Institute Film Music Program Director - and director Katie Aselton, who collaborated on Black Rock; composer Ryan Beveridge and director Aurora Guerrero, who collaborated on Mosquita y Mari; composer Alec Puro and director Jonathan Kasdan, who collaborated on The First Time; composer T. Griffin and director Marshall Lewy, who worked together on California Solo; composer Michael Bacon (Slavery by Another Name); composer Miriam Cutler (Ethel); composer Cliff Martinez (Arbitrage); composer Andrew Hollander (Sleepwalk With Me); director Malik Bendjelloul (Searching for Sugar Man); composer Heather McIntosh and director Craig Zobel, who worked together on Compliance; director and composer Terence Nance (An Oversimplification of Her Beauty) and composer and Sundance Composers Lab advisor Blake Neely.

The conversation will be moderated by Doreen Ringer Ross, Vice President, Film/TV Relations at BMI.
